CoPSS ensures the highest standards of surgical training across the UK through:

• Establishing a UK-wide footprint as the unified voice for those involved in delivering surgical training.
• Contributing to and facilitating the application of evolving rules governing surgical training.
• Representing surgical training on various national bodies and committees.
• Encouraging opportunities for inter-professional learning with non-medical clinicians who form part of the extended surgical team.
• Balancing the dual demands on trainees: providing essential clinical services today while ensuring sufficient time for training to secure the workforce of tomorrow.
• Supporting the development of committed, educationally aware faculty members who serve as surgical supervisors and educational leaders.
